FTP/SFTP file checksum

Is there anyway to get checksum of a file in FTP/SFTP.
If so, Please provide me the code.

There isn't a generic way to do it as it's not a part of the FTP or SFTP protocols, but some servers have custom commands that allow you to do it. Which server are you using?

I'm using FTP enabled a linux server.

That isn't enough information. I need to know what type of FTP server the Linux box is running. For example, is it ProFTPD, PureFTPD, VSFTPD....?
