A number of people have recently posted about problems with connection timeouts on large transfers (e.g. 500 MB). Some servers seem to time out their control connections even though a file is being transferred (which is of course a server bug - it should know the connection is still alive).
We now have a solution for this (thanks to Russell Lively and others for their assistance). If anyone would like to test it out, please email support at enterprisedt dot com for the new DLL.
Please note that it may not work with all FTP servers - it relies on sending a NOOP command every x seconds to keep the control connection alive. Some servers can't cope with this, e.g. after the transfer each new command receives the earlier NOOP replies.
We plan to release an official new version of edtFTPnet with this early next week.
