I installed edtFTPD on an XP machine and am trying to connect from another machine.

The edtFTPD log has the following:

255.255.255.255 - error setting write fd IP_TOS: Invalid argument
255.255.255.255 - error setting read fd IP_TOS: Invalid argument
255.255.255.255 - error setting write fd TCP_NOPUSH: Protocol not available
255.255.255.255 - error setting read fd TCP_NOPUSH: Protocol not available

The connection fails.

What is wrong? Can anybody help.

Yes,

The ipaddress of the machine trying to connect is listed along with a
"session opened" and then a "session closed" message as follows:

255.255.255.255 (xx.xx.xxx.xxx[xx.xx.xxx.xxx]) - FTP session opened.
255.255.255.255 (xx.xx.xxx.xxx[xx.xx.xxx.xxx]) - FTP session closed.
255.255.255.255 - error setting write fd IP_TOS: Invalid argument
255.255.255.255 - error setting read fd IP_TOS: Invalid argument
255.255.255.255 - error setting write fd TCP_NOPUSH: Protocol not available
255.255.255.255 - error setting read fd TCP_NOPUSH: Protocol not available

The first 3 error-messages are normal and may be ignored (see here).
The last two messages do not look like errors to me. They look like you've just connected and then immediately disconnected. Is that what you're doing?
