:( I know that i made a mistake already, now i am trying to figure out if all is lost. I formated my 70 gig harddrive and gave the first 55 to Windows 2000 Pro and then 4 months later i u gave the remaining 15 to SuSE 9.1. I cannot use 2000 any more. This is my very first linux install. I do not have anything on the linux side worth saving. i am wondering if i can now just get my 2000 back with all my important files. i got a project on the w2k side that i have been working on for 3 months that is due in a week. i backed up but my back up is 3 - 4 days old so i do not wanna do all that work over again. my plan is to get 2000 back as it was and if i lose linux then i wont shed a tear. a fast response would be appreciated. :) Thanks for listening to my incessant blabbering

you could try fdisk /mbr

see say http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/qna/1742.html

however all bets are off & it can fail & this is just a suggestion that may or may not work :)
