During installation on a Windows Small Business Server 2003 the install hangs. The install.log last entries are:

Preparing command: C:\edtFTPD\bin\mkpasswd.exe -l C:\edtFTPD\etc\passwd-raw
10:57:29 AM Running command

If I kill the mkpasswd.exe process the install completes, but I have no users. I am logged in as the domain administrator.

Thoughts?
Thanks!

I ran the command manually and I've determined that the root issue is because the ftp server is not part of a domain, it's in a workgroup. Something about mkpasswd is expecting a domain requirement and the pathname that's being passed after the local switch is being interpreted as the domain name. Instead, the command needs a > drive:\path\file but the install screws it up. I haven't figured a way around this so any info is appreciated.

Maybe misery loves company. I have the same problem. Finally got through the install by terminating the mkpasswd.exe process. Server and service are up and running but I have to kill this process every time I restart the server. User list is populated and I can enable users but not log them in.
