Is the problem with file names or the contents?

Are you downloading/uploading in binary or ASCII? Are they text files?

PS forum support is free, and thus questions are answered when we have some free time available. Saying the problem is urgent on the free support forum won't make us answer any faster, quite the opposite in fact.

i am using edtjFTP API in my application for ftp program(java)
my requirement is to download the files, modify them and then upload
to the server. And it is working fine
But the problem is when download the file its encoding is changing and
even when modify and upload the same problem i am facing with the
japanese characters and i think we need to set UTF-8 inthe program
can u please help me in fixing this problem

thaks for the reply

i am downloading in binary, when i download in Ascii the files will changing in the encoding while downloading only and downloading in binary will affect the files encoding only when we modify the files. and i am downloading .html,.jsp,.php extension files

please help me in fixing this problem .(i will be waiting for u r reply)
