Hi there,

I setup a server for our clients with CompleteFTP prof. edition using SFTP
I would like to know if i can use a SHA2 certificate that would be used with the secure connection.
If i can, anyone here knows how to set this up.

Thanks!

Could you give us more details? SFTP doesn't use certificates, it uses public/private keys.

Do you mean you want to be able to use SHA-2 hashes in SFTP?

Hi there,

Its a question from one of our clients, i dont realy understand what they mean with the question.
I think they mean they want to build a secure connection like a tunnel over the internet to our SFTP server using SHA2, but then they need to build a VPN i guess.

SHA2 is a hashing algorithm - it can't be used to build a tunnel.

Perhaps they want to use SFTP with a SHA2 hashing algorithm.

It is, but it is not supported in CompleteFTP (yet) and it is not supported in many SFTP clients either.

If your client definitely requires it, this probably isn't difficult for us to implement. However we'd need further details.
