SFTP - is passphrase required for public key authentication

Question

I thought with SFTP you could create private keys without a pass-phrase and still do authentication. Looking at the help documentation there does not seem to be a way to authenticate with keys without a private pass-phrase. Is that the case or am I missing something?

No, you don't need a passphrase - you can just pass in an empty string as the passphrase.
