By default, CompleteFTP runs as the Local System user. Some users prefer to run CompleteFTP as a less privileged user. Can this be done?
The answer is yes, but some configuration is required:
- The CompleteFTP user must have the "Logon User" privilege.- The CompleteFTP user must have permission to write to the CompleteFTP data directory.
- The CompleteFTP user must have permission to access any other directories it is required to access
To actually change the user, you need to locate the Complete FTP Server in the list of services, and open its Properties dialog. Select the Log On tab, and enter the user account you wish to run the service as.
