Hi all,

I was hoping to find an FTP server that will allow me to write the authentication code/script. I've spent some time reading the documentation of CompleteFTP and I don't believe it can do what I'm after.

I've seen this dialog: http://www.enterprisedt.com/images/cftp-ss-extuser.png . Which allows me to authenticate against a database. But I was hoping to write some code to trip off to a webservice that already exists in my corporate environment.

Other options-- write a LDAP provider for the existing webserivce. Hmmmm.

Thanks,
Russ

If you can put an OLE DB adapter in front of your webservice then yes it can be done with the current version. Obviously that's a bit clumsy though, and I'm not sure how hard it would be to code.

I'm not sure how we could support webservices directly for authentication.

Bruce was commenting on what is currently available in CompleteFTP; I'll comment on future features.

We are currently in the process of opening up CompleteFTP's existing plug-in architecture to allow users to add their own plug-ins. Currently we have plug-ins for file-systems, events and site commands. We don't yet have the ability for users to provide their own authentication plug-ins, but this is something we are planning to add. Plug-ins must be .NET assemblies meaning they can be written in C#, VB.NET or any other .NET language. Is this something you would be interested in? If so, how soon do you need it?
