Have you added any Windows users previously?

Are you trying to add users that are local to the machine that the server is running on, or are you trying to add domain users?

If it's the former then any users that haven't already been added should show up when you click "List server's local users". If it's the latter then it is important that the correct name of the domain is entered and that the domain controller is accessible using this name from the machine on which CompleteFTP is installed. If it isn't, however, then you should get an error saying "The server is not operational" rather than just a blank list.

Not sure what you mean. The server is running on my machine in our corporate network. I want to add users from outside of this network. We have lots of clients logging in from various locations. What would I do to add these users. I just want to assign them a name and password. Is this possible and how do I do this?

Thanks.

It sounds like you don't actually want or need existing Windows users logging in with their existing passwords? Is that right?

i.e. you just want to create some users that people can log in as?

Open the CompleteFTP manager. Navigate to the "Users" menu.

Select "Add a non-Windows user".

Choose your username and password and so on. Select the default home folder, or navigate to somewhere you choose. The only caveat if you choose a different directory is that it requires permissions for anyone (which is normally ok unless you select another user's home dir).

Your user should be created, and you should now see it in the list displayed when you select the "Users' menu. If you click on that user, you'll see all the user properties, including the protocols it is enabled for.
