Pinging my Router

Can the code be easily modified to ping my router?
Better yet, how difficult would it be to write code JUST to ping my router?

Depends what you mean by ping your router :)

If you mean telnet to the router and run a command to verify its status (all in Java), it isn't particularly difficult - but not related to FTP.

@ the house, want to have my wireless clients ping the router so the connection stays active.

Otherwise, the connections terminate from lack of use.
Easy enough to reconnect when you're in front of the remote client but a pain when you upstairs and want to remotely connect to the wireless client but can't since the connection was dropped!
