I'm evaluating CompleteFTP and I like it so far. However, I can't find a way to set up users and directories such that when they log in, they are put in their directory and can't move up the folder hierarchy from there. Whenever I set up a root directory and add user directories in it, I set the permissions so they they can do whatever they need in their default directory, and so they don't have permissions in the parent directory above. Using an SFTP-capable client like WinSCP, I can move to the parent directory (..) even tho I can't view, upload, or download from that directory.

The risk seems negligible but I would still prefer to lock this down. I've used other FTP-like products where the users default directory was treated as their root, and they could not move up the hierarchy from there. Does anyone know if this is possible with CompleteFTP?

If it matters, I am flexible in terms of the authentication method - windows logins or local logins are both an option on the table for me.

Thanks for your help,
Jeff

Yes it is. Go to the "Settings" panel, expand the "General User Settings" category, tick "User's home folder appears as root".
