I would like to know if it is possible to put user home directories as sub folders of other users. What I have is a situation where one user is uploading files that another user needs access to download. The second user also has other sub directories that the first can not have access to under any circumstances. The only option I see is to make the first user's home directory a sub directory of the second user. The problem I have here is that I have only three options for security - Owner full, everyone read, and everyone full. If I make the first user the owner of the folder and choose owner full, would the second user have access to this sub dir (the home dir of the first user)? I know that if I choose any of the other options, all users would have access to these files if they knew how to get tot hem and I can't have that kind of security hole.

First of all, I apologize for the slow response. We got a little behind over the holiday period.

This is probably not what you want to hear, but the answer is to upgrade to the Professional Edition. Permissions is one of the main differentiators between the Standard and Professional Editions. Pro permissions work like Unix, though the granularity is a lot finer. Each folder has an owner and a group. Permissions can be set separately for the owner, for the group and for everyone. So in this instance, you would create a group that only the read-only user is a member of. You would then give the owner full permissions and give the group read-only permissions.
