Transferring between two remote computers

Is it possible to transfer files between to remote computers using edtFTPj?

Yes, but you need an FTP server running on one of them. You could use the free FileZilla server, or our edtFTPD server. We are releasing a new version in a couple of weeks. Microsoft also has an FTP server which you can install (an IIS component I think).
