Yep, works here too, Windows2000 sp4, no domain. Thanks!

I would appreciate somebody re-hosting the fix, as I am experiencing this same issue on an XP SP2 installation (no domain).

We aren't supporting this version any more.

There will be a new version released in the next day or so which is written specifically for .NET (previous versions are ports using cygwin).

So it's been a few days now.. Any word on this new .Net version? Is it set to be downloaded? And does it finally support domain users or AD, anything besides local accounts or hacking around with etc/passwd, etc/group?

We've run into a couple of annoying problems that have delayed the release. We expect to resolve them within the next few days. Believe me, we are itching to release this thing and are doing our best to do so.

The new server itself already supports domain users and server-specific users (i.e. users without a corresponding Windows account), but since this first beta will be using the management GUI from the old edtFTPD, these features will not actually be exposed, so for now the answer is no.

Ok, you can now download the setup.exe for the new server. I'll create a new thread for any issues or bugs people find. This server should rapidly progress - we will soon be adding SFTP support as well.

Notes

- you need to run the manager first to enable Windows users (and to start the service)
- you need to set the home dir when you enable a user (can be any dir really)
- when you log in, use the qualified name, e.g. MACHINE\username
- anonymous users not yet supported
- home directories not stored for disabled accounts (i.e. if you disable an account you lose the home dir that has been set)
