Is there a way to add multiple groups to a folder or plans to support this in the future

There are no immediate plans to do this. CompleteFTP uses the Linux model of permissions, which can handle most use-cases. If you describe your needs we may be able to suggest an alternative solution that doesn't rely on multiple groups.
