can i set permission of the file in ftp server

Question

hi,
i want to download the file from ftp server...but it does not allow me to download due to security reasons. can i change permissions programatically ur permission property of FTPFile and download files ??

the owner of the file is me myslf...i hav uploaded the files on teh ftp server...wht security permissions i need to consider so that i can upload those files later on thru pir edtftp component??...

Generally the FTP server (or perhaps your account on the server) needs to be configured so that files are created with the correct permissions.

It may be possible to send a site specific command to set the permissions - you'll need to find out what that command is.

how can i deploy the application created by enterprisedt.com??...do i specifically need a licensed version or free version can also help me for that??

I'm not sure what your question means.

edtFTPnet is licensed under the LGPL. This means that your application can use the edtFTPnet.DLL freely (i.e. without restriction or cost) as long as our code isn't directly copied into your app. You also need to distribute the edtFTPnet code and LGPL license with your app.

If you don't want the LGPL obligations, you can purchase a source license for edtFTPnet for $99.
