SFTP / SCP / SSH
SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) is the industry standard for secure file transfers, and is supported in the Standard, Professional, and Enterprise MFT Editions of CompleteFTP.
While FTPS plays exactly the same role, SFTP is far easier to configure with firewalls, and so is often preferred over FTPS. The Professional and Enterprise MFT Editions also support SSH (Secure Shell), SCP (Secure Copy), and SSH forwarding / tunnelling. SSH allows users to login via a terminal session, while SCP is a protocol specifically intended for secure copying of files that existed before SFTP.
Our step-by-step guide helps those new to SFTP to get started quickly.
